Before obtaining his MBA, Patrick completed his masters/bachelors degree in accounting at Brigham Young University’s top-ranked accounting program, which eventually lead to him working as an auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). This experience exposed him to a number of different businesses and he was able to complete his certified public accountant (CPA) certification. However, as Patrick was exposed more and more to the international business environment through personal travel he decided to leave PwC to seek the more international education and work experience noted above that he could combine with his accounting background. By so doing, Patrick hopes to bring his skills and understanding to the emerging international business markets.
As a supplement, Patrick has lived and studied in four countries, worked in two of them, and personally visited 35 countries on six continents. He is fluent in English and Tagalog, the national language of the Philippines where he served a mission for his church; and is studying Portuguese.
Originally, Patrick was seeking to break into the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) market; however, while in London he serendipitously met a Brazilian woman to whom he is now engaged. As such, he and his fiancé are instead seeking to move to Brazil in order to participate in the equally dynamic, strong and hopeful market of Brazil and to begin his post-MBA career.
With his many cross-cultural travel experiences and international volunteer work, education and work experience (see Linkedin profile below) Patrick knows he has the right skills, vision and values to be a successful asset to any international accounting/finance team operating in Brazil.
